Educational Fund

In 2004, the Adkins Family established the Mamie Adkins Educational Fund to benefit members of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Rockfish, NC.  This fund was established to reflect the love and appreciation of the church that Mamie Adkins called home, her delight in young people and her understanding of the value of an education.  In 2009, 4 more deserving students were awarded Mamie Adkins Scholarships!!!  In 2010 1 more was added, 2011 saw another young lady receive the scholarship. This year 2012 we have Two scholarship recipients that are rising Seniors @ NCSU who have maintained an Average GPA of 3.8!!  We congratulate them; they both will be receiving their 4th year endowment from the Mamie Adkins Educational Fund.  James & Brittany have no doubt learned that diligence and devotion are keys to success.  Providing support to deserving individuals like these two is what this fund is all about. To date, EIGHT lives have been forever touched by the life that she led.

Bragging Rights

This is a good natured Competitive Tournament designed for a few hours of fellowship, friendship, fun and Bragging Rights.  If you are not playing – you are really missing out on a good time.  Last year, 24 teams – 96 players took to the links vying for the “BRAGGING RIGHTS CHAMPIONS CUP TROPHY”.

“Taylor Made Painting” with their own ACE Mr. Chip Collins (not pictured) managed to take a Edged out of the “Army STRONG” – “Wild Things” took third place, whileShake n Bake” finished fourth & “Woodmen of the World” came in with a Fifth Place score.  Earning “Taylor Made Painting” comprised of (L to R) Roger Palma, Kirk Garner, Keith Taylor and Chip Collins (not pictured) their spot on the Bragging Rights Champions Cup.

Awards Ceremony

This year our award’s ceremony will recognize 1st-5th placed teams, contest winners and a maybe even a live auction so, don’t forget to bring your checkbooks.

Player Rankings

If you don’t know what a handicap is – You are a “D” player, if you have heard of a handicap but don’t know what it means – You are a “C” player, if you don’t know what yours is – You are a “B” player, if you actually have one – well, congratulations, you are the “A” player!

Ready for the Links

The anticipation of that memorable drive off the first tee that splits the fairway is almost too much to bear.  That perfect drive that launches into the Carolina blue sky is a beautiful thing.  Being out on the golf course w/ friends, building memories and knowing that you are helping a worthy cause by assisting a young adult obtain an education makes for a really good day.  While in this tournament you should be aware that golfing prowess is certainly crucial however one must also be ever diligent in regard to wind direction, hole layout and “gag” placement.  Otherwise you could end up like this guy. Mr. Kyle Gregory, shown here doing his best Texas quickstep, a nice little dance that took Kyle all the way across the green.  Ah, Good Times.

The paparazzi is going to be held at bay, for the most part – he will not be stalking around the course as in years past.  All kidding aside, Mr. Tom Cox, tournament photographer will be set up with miniature on site studio where you can view and buy some of the beautiful images he captures on the spot – like this one of Kyle’s two step.  So gather your friends, your neighbors, your family members – get your teams together and join us.  You owe it to yourself to experience this Tournament!!
